Community Action: MK is a local charity dedicated to supporting the voluntary sector in Milton Keynes.
We aim to promote, support, engage and involve the amazing work happening in and around Milton Keynes’ communities. We help anyone wanting to engage with local communities whether they are part of a community, charity, group, company or an individual looking to make a difference!
We provide advice and support on setting up, managing and developing voluntary or community groups, and we create opportunities for local groups to meet with each other through a series networking and training events. We also help local groups to recruit volunteers.
We work in partnership with other voluntary and community groups, public sector bodies and businesses to enable people to play an active part in their community.
Our role in CAPE
Community Action: MK will engage and involve citizens, and local community groups in Milton Keynes in the process of developing and testing CAPE’s interactive website, and support them in the delivery of their own community energy projects once the website has been launched. We will also ensure that individual citizens and local groups have their say on what their priorities are and how these could be addressed as part of the CAPE project.
We’re delighted to be involved with this exciting pilot which will engage our citizens in getting cheaper, greener power under their control. Milton Keynes can show what’s possible where citizen power is concerned! Robbie Macpherson, Chief Operating Officer
